STANDING SENATE COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL AFFAIRS, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY This committee deals with Justice and the Law This Committee also dealt with the Family Support Plan Bill and have a committment from the government to work for fairer access for fathers and related rights. There has been no progress whatsoever. A do nothing group as far as family law reform is concerned This Committee is supposed to deal with Justice and the Law This Committee also dealt with the outrageously unfair Bill C 41, the Family Support Plan Bill. This is the law which among other things, jails fathers for missing child support payments regardless of the ability to pay and confiscates fathers (but not mothers) driver's licences and passports. It did nothing to stop mothers from defying access, but clobbers men and fathers. It has a commitment from government to work to fairer access for fathers and related rights. As a result of this commitment the JOINT COMMITTEE ON CUSTODY AND ACCESS was struck and held hearings across Canada. The work of this Committee has militant feminists howling in a rage as men and fathers finally got a hearing.
